Video algorithms are tricky and don't always show us at our best moment. Luckily, you can now upload a perfect Page video thumbnail!
When you upload a video to a Page, the system algorithm will highlight a single frame of that video to show as your video thumbnail. Unfortunately, this doesn't always show off the most graceful frame for a thumbnail.
Thankfully, you can now upload your own thumbnail image to a video in a Page. Let's find out how!
How to Upload a Thumbnail to a Page Video:
Head to your Console and select Content and Pages from the left hand menu. Now it's time to find a Page with a video in it that you want to add a thumbnail image to.
Once you find the video, tap the three dots to the right of the video and select the option for Update Cover.
You'll be taken to a window that allows you to upload your thumbnail image next.
The video thumbnail itself is a square image with a 1:1 ratio. We recommend uploading this size of image as a thumbnail so that you don't need to worry about discovering the video aspect ratio.
Press Upload and then go ahead and select your intended thumbnail image, then crop it to suit your preferences. Once selected, the image will instantly be attached to the Page video.
Top Tips:
- It's good to know that when you add a thumbnail image to a video, this will be the image that is shown first before the user presses play on the video.
- This is currently only available for videos in a Page.
